The North East Spinout Inspire Fund provides investment for ambitious university spinouts looking to capitalise on their research, commercialise their offering and develop into an enterprise capable of competing in global markets. Acting as catalysts for industry transformative innovation and attracting a variety of talent to the area, spinout companies are the foundation of the high-growth businesses of the future.
The fund aims to tap into an array of sectors in which the North East region has an impressive track record of industry sector credentials, as well as leading the way in pioneering new opportunities through the world-renowned institutions of Durham University, Newcastle University, Northumbria University, the University of Sunderland and Teesside University.
This fund will provide investment for businesses operating mainly in these sectors: Life Science, Ageing, Healthcare, AI, Digital Software, Computer Games, Cleantech, Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering. The fund will seek to make initial investments of £200,000 – £750,000.
