Investment Process

Northstar Ventures is always keen to speak to ambitious entrepreneurs and companies with market-focused business ideas. The main attributes we look for in any prospective investment for any of our funds under management are:

  • a strong team with deep sector knowledge
  • a significant market opportunity
  • intellectual property that creates barriers to entry
  • global vision and ambition

There is no formal application process but we encourage you to submit a proposal or business plan for review that covers the following questions:

  • who are the people behind your business?
  • what is the problem you are solving?
  • how big is the opportunity?
  • what is different about your business and why is this an advantage?
  • is there any defensible intellectual property in your product or service?
  • who are your main competitors?
  • how will your business make money?
  • how much investment are you looking for and how will it be spent?
  • have you had any previous investment?
  • how much progress have you made so far?
  • what are the basic business financials?
